As a Nation
As a country and a culture, are we employing behavior that will get us the results we want? I don’t think so. We are doing the same things repeatedly, expecting a different result. Albert Einstein said that is insanity. Violence breeds violence. I don’t believe that anyone in this country, save a few, really want violence. Most people are afraid of losing what they have and not getting what they want. This fear drives people to violence. Don’t let fear win the day.
People talk about having rights, getting rights, and fear of losing rights. The conversation need be about how can people work together to ensure that ALL of our RIGHTS are protected. The foundation for this needs to include, “your rights end where mine begin”. All human beings have rights, and no human being is due more rights than another. All human beings are different but that doesn’t change the fact that they have rights. One right that no one has, is to endanger the safety of another human being. This country was built on the right to religious freedom. All people have a right to worship or not worship in their own way. Seriously, has humanity not learned a damn thing. No one individual or group has a right to absolute power.
A piece of the solution is for the people to compromise and work towards common goals. For the most part we all want similar things but disagree on what, how, and priority of the solutions. If we spent time brainstorming for solutions to our nation’s problems, rather than name calling, threatening, blaming, and judging; the issues that plague our nation could be in much better shape. Our government has turned to middle school bullying, gang like take overs, terroristic threats, and pandering to extremists for re-election. All this behavior is inciting chaos and is utilized to block the executive branch from passing legislation that will benefit the country just so “that party” won’t have a “win”. It doesn’t get more immature than that.
I am sure there are powers in the world that would like nothing better than our nation to fall into complete chaos. My guess is that someone or some entity would benefit from a fall either by money or power or both. I hope and pray that the citizens of our nation wake up before it is too late and begin to compromise and stop playing games that are deadly. I have hope that there are citizens that are willing to compromise rather than have our nation fall into chaos and become vulnerable to entities in the world that would like nothing better than to destroy our nation.
Consider Universal Peace.
Peace,
