The Real Me-All of Me

I have come so far in this journey to be authentic. It really takes daily practice and continuing acceptance of myself. The limitations and barriers are easier to accept and it gives me goals for being a better version of me. It is the strengths, talents, and more positive traits that are more difficult to accept. By accepting these things about myself I am better able to be the best version of me possible.

How to do this is a process. That means that there is no destination only the journey. What does this mean for me in my daily life? I don’t compare myself to others. When I'm communicating and spending time with other people, I am focused on who they are and their worldview. I am interested in their story. Before when I was comparing my life to theirs, I was too internally focused to give them my undivided attention. When I can give others the gift of listening, I am able to broaden my worldview and understanding.

What is your experience with this process of being authentic? Do you find yourself saying yes when you want to say no? The find yourself going along with the crowd because it's too uncomfortable To express have you really feel about the situation? Do you stay in relationships with job, family, or friends that are not the best fit for you?

Being authentic is a way to move through life being more satisfied with your choices.
