Restore or Reconstruct?

How will you show up when society returns to more social interactions?  The talk is of restoring society to pre-Covid-19 status. I want to take this opportunity to show up as if the world is fertile ground for acceptance and love of each other.  A place where we can be who we are with support and acceptance and encouragement.  A place where when we do not agree with someone for any reason, we can verbalize our thoughts without demonizing the person.  A place where we do not have to agree with everyone or desire to spend time with everyone but a place where we do not have to try to destroy that which we do not agree. I think this will require reconstruction along with restoration.

I am not a finished product.  I continue to address the inner reconstruction that needs to happen so I can support, encourage, and accept those that are different than me.  I want the spirit of self-acceptance that is required to accept others.  I want the people in my life to feel safe enough to confront me when they have concerns. I have people in my life that can do this, and I am forever grateful to them.

Let me know your thoughts on this in the comment section.  I look forward to your input.

I want to thank the recovering women in my life, you know who you are, and Fr. Mike Schmitz for their influence on this blog post.
